Japanese Marxist philosopher at the University of Tokyo and an editor of the Marx-Engels-Gesamtausgabe, whose reading of Marx's late ecological notebooks argues for "degrowth communism"; his Capital in the Anthropocene sold over half a million copies in Japan.
